Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Ingredients
1 pound fettuccine pasta
1 tablespoon butter
1 pound cooked shrimp - peeled and deveined
4 cloves garlic minced
1 cup half and half
6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon parsley
salt to taste

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to boil. (Lightly salt after boiling.)
  2. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  3. In a large skillet, saute shrimp and garlic in the butter for about one minute.
  4. Pour in half and half; stir.
  5. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese one tablespoon at a time, stirring constantly.
  6. After all Parmesan is added mix in parsley and salt.
  7. Stir frequently making sure it does not boil. (Sauce will take a while to thicken.)
  8. When sauce has thickened, combine with cooked pasta noodles; serve hot.

I really don't like shrimp myself. We were given shrimp some time ago and since my husband likes this dish I will make it. (We will see how much shrimp I eat.)

If you are like me and don't like shrimp try making it with chicken. Either use precooked chicken or put the raw cut chicken in the skillet to cook, to almost done, before mixing with garlic.

Let me know what you think of this dish!
