The old saying is that you need 8 glasses of water a day. When doing some research on this post I came across many articles that stated that the old saying is false. I agree that 8 glasses a day is not right for everyone but I also feel that it is a good place to start.
This topic is very important for me as I am one of those people that do not drink enough water. There are days when I sit down and realize that I only had one glass of milk in the morning and then have nothing to drink until after dinner. How does this happen? I have never been good about drinking anything and add on to that a two year old daughter that is done eating before I even set my food on the table and you will understand.
What happens because I don't drink enough:
- I eat snack foods when I am really just thirsty because I have lost my sense of thirst.
- I am overly tired (becoming dehydrated even mildly can make you tired.)
- I get headaches by the end of the day (also happens if only mildly dehydrated.)
These are just things that I notice.
I am going to put forth a renewed effort to get more water in my diet. Will you join me?
Don't forget that our planned meal for tonight is:
Green Salad
Prep for tomorrow's planned meal: defrost ground beef for Tacos.

Sounds good to me! I was also amazed that I lost 10 pounds just by drinking water. Seriously! I thought I was sick or something but realized that's the one thing I'd been doing differently for a few months. Your recipe for today sounds great too. I'll have to try that.
Missy,
Yes, drinking water does help with weight loss too. I know this mostly from all the people that I see with one of those large Weight Watchers water bottles. I think it holds 64 oz.
I really like today's recipe. It is so easy and has a great taste too.
I often experience headaches when I don't drink water. I can get so distracted with caring for four homeschooled children all day that I don't get around to drinking the water until my head is pounding.
I have overcome this by putting my water drinking goals on my to-do list. This way I can cross it off as I drink each glass.
This is a great post and very much needed as a basic nudge toward healthy living.
