Stir-Fried Beef and Broccoli

Stir-Fried Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients
1/2 cup cold water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 pound beef boneless sirloin steak
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 package (16 ounces) frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained
1 cup orange juice

Directions

  1. Mix water, cornstarch and soy sauce.
  2. Trim fat from beef and cut with grain into 2-inch strips
  3. Heat 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Add oil; rotate skillet to coast side.
  5. Add beef, ginger and garlic powder; stir-fry about 3 minutes or until beef is brown.
  6. Add broccoli; stir-fry 2 minutes.
  7. Stir in orange juice; heat to boiling.
  8. Stir in cornstarch mixture; cook and stir about 1 minute o until thickened.
  9. Serve over rice.

Next time try this recipe using beef broth instead of water and add a 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to add more flavor.
