The Grocery Game Tip

If you are a regular here you might have noticed that the number of posts has gone down over the last week. While I sometimes wonder if I will run out of things to write about that hasn't been the reason. I was on vacation last week. My family, including parents, mother in law and brother and his wife all met at Daytona Beach for the week. It was a great time!

Now that I am home I am trying to catch up on things. (I never thought I would feel this way as a stay at home mom. Yes, when I worked out of the home I would have hundred plus emails to get through and reports that had to be updated, but I feel terribly behind still now.)

One of the things I am behind on is The Grocery Game. There are two weeks that I did not get to go shopping. One week I was in Florida, and one week I was busy getting ready along with bad weather that kept me inside.

A friend of mine, the author of Money Saving Methods, who is also named Carrie, let me know a tip that I would like to share with you. Even though I missed those two weeks I had the printouts of the list of groceries I was to buy. I prepared everything as if they were part of the current weeks list. I pulled coupons, some had expired so those deals are missed, and marked those items I was going to buy. Then I went shopping with three weeks worth of Grocery lists. Most of the items were still on sale, and a number of those were at the same great price that was on the list. I did miss out on some great savings but I was truly surprised at the number of bargains that were still available.

So, if you are like me and can't get out for some reason using The Grocery Game print the list anyway. (The list is not archived after a new list is published.) Then when you go shopping with the next weeks list just include it. You might be surprised what you find.
