Inflation in The Grocery Stores

Front page on my local paper, right below the news on our flood waters, it states 'With no relief in sight, shoppers have to deal with rising food costs.' It states in the Midwest, my neck of the woods, a gallon of milk is up 30% and eggs 39% in from Feb. 2007 to Feb. 2008. Wow! I did notice the cost of milk going up and hear it everywhere that grocery bills are being hit because of rising fuel cost. (The article mentions additional reasons for the price increases.)

How is it with rising costs of food, even over the rate of inflation elsewhere, that my grocery bills are only going down? Before the arrival of my daughter my husband and I spent about $400 a month on groceries. Then when my daughter arrived, an extra mouth and diapers, it went up to $500 a month. I had quit my job to stay home with my daughter and I was working hard to decrease expenses. Even then the grocery bill was higher than I wanted to be. Then a friend told me about The Grocery Game.

The Grocery Game has slowly reduced my grocery bill. Every couple of months I notice that the bills have gone down again. I now spend about $320 a month on groceries, and I only expect them to go down further. Even if they don't I am still saving almost $2,000 a year over what I was spending prior to using The Grocery Game.

If you haven't given The Grocery Game a try, you should. You can get a 4 week trial for just $1. After that they charge you $10 every 8 weeks. Also, you can get free weeks by referring your family and friends. So, please use CarriesCooking@gmail.com as your referral.

What are you doing to combat rising grocery bills?
