Is there something in your pantry or freezer that you would like me to find a recipe for? I might just use your item in next weeks menu.
Why do I ask this question? Well, I make most of my menus out of items that I have on hand. Food you have already purchased is much cheaper than food you have to go out and buy. Since I use The Grocery Game most of the food I have was purchased at bargain prices.
Leave a comment on what you would like to use and I will find a recipe for you. I love looking for new recipes so let me see what I can find for you!
If you are frustrated trying to decide what to have for dinner every night let me help. On Friday, a shopping list for the next weeks meals is posted. Visit http://www.CarriesCooking.com/ each day and your dinner frustrations will be over. I hope you join me for this free, time and money saving guide.

I have a couple of questions for ya. Not necessarily a "Pantry Pick," but kind of. I was thinking when I was at the grocery store last night and got to thinking. What is the benefit of flax seed and wheat germ? And how can I utilize them in my cooking? Any ideas?
I have never used wheat germ but I have flax seed. Even though I have used flax seed I haven't used it to cook. I bought milled flax seed because it is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and fiber. I don't have a problem getting fiber in my diet, if I work at it. Omega-3 is best found in fish, which I am not a big fan of.
I used the milled flax seed in my instant breakfast in the morning. I don't like many breakfast foods and am often on my feet in the morning so I have one or two instant breakfasts in the morning. I buy kroger brand of the carnation style breakfast. I would just put about a teaspoon of it in my mix and stir it up well. I can taste it but don't mind a little grainy flavor.
I know you can cook with both, and will check on it further. On the box of milled flax seed that I purchase there is a recipe for breads and you can even make an egg substitue by mixing it with water.
I will get back with you on more information on wheat germ and maybe a good place to look for recipes for them.
