Fettuccine with Garlic-Basil Cream Sauce

Ingredients
1 pound fettuccine
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 large cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
1 container (8 oz) reduced-fat or nonfat sour cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. Cook fettucine in a large pot of lightly salted boiling water until al dente, firm but tender.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a small skillet over low heat.
  3. Add garlic; cook until golden, turning cloves over as they color, 6 minutes.
  4. Add basil; cook 10 seconds.
  5. Transfer to a food processor.
  6. Add sour crea, Parmesan, salt and pepper.
  7. Whirl until creamy.
  8. Pour into a serving bowl.
  9. Drain pasta well.
  10. Add to bowl with crea sauce; toss to mix.
