Rigatoni Bolognese

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds rigatoni
1 pound ground beef
1 carrot, shredded
1 medium onion, diced
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
1 beef bouillon cube
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Directions

  1. Cook the rigatoni according to the package directions; drain and set aside to keep warm.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large pot, brown the beef over medium-high heat.
  3. Drain the excess liquid.
  4. Add the carrot, onion, and garlic to the beef.
  5. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the onion is tender, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the remaining ingredients except the rigatoni; cover and reduce the heat to low.
  7. Simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to 'marry,' stirring occasionally.
  8. Stir in the cooked rigatoni and serve.
