Penne con Sauccia

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian sausage 
  • 1 (16 ounce) package penne pasta
  • 1 (16 ounce) can Italian-style diced tomatoes, drained
  • 2 tablespoons dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • crushed red pepper to taste
  • salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
  • 1 (28 ounce) jar pasta sauce with mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
  1. Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. 
  2. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. 
  3. Drain and return to pan.
  4. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. 
  5. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  6. To the sausage add the tomatoes, basil, parsley, crushed red pepper, salt and garlic. 
  7. Stir in pasta sauce. 
  8. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. 
  9. Stir in cooked pasta and top with Parmesan cheese.
