Spices In My Spice Cupboard

One of my readers asked me what spices I feel should be kept on hand.  I decided the best way to do this was to just inventory all my spices and label them as either "Must Have", "Nice To Have", or "Only if Needed".  Below is the list of all the spices I have and how I rank them.  


Must Have
Basil, Bay Leaves, Cayenne Red Pepper, Chili Powder, Crushed Red Pepper, Cumin, Curry, Garlic Powder, Ground Black Pepper, Ground Cinnamon, Ground Cloves, Ground Ginger, Italian Seasoning, Nutmeg, Onion Powder, Oregano, Paprika, Parsley Flakes, Rosemary, Salt, Thyme

Nice To Have
Chopped onion, Cream of Tartar, Fennel Seed, Lemon Pepper, Mrs. Dash Original, Mustard, Poultry Seasoning, Seasoned Salt, Tarragon Leaves

Only If Needed
Adobo, Allspice, Cajun Seasoning, Celery Seeds, Chinese Five Spice, Cinnamon (sticks), Cinnamon Sugar, Creole Seasoning, Dill, Dried Tomato Bits, Garlic Salt, Ground Coriander, Ground Marjoram, Ground White Pepper, Mint, Onion Salt, Poppy Seed, Pumpkin Spice, Sage, Sea Salt, Whole Black Peppercorns, Whole Allspice, Whole Cloves
