My Chalkboard

CarriesCooking's Home Recipe

Last week in my post here, I said how my kitchen is the hub of my home.  Here is another example.  I try to update my chalkboard every morning, or before I go to bed the night before.  I put the day, date, weather, what we are going to have for dinner, and any activities that are planned on it.

The simple act of updating my calendar helps in the following ways:
  • Reminds me what day of the week it is.  (This is often a hard concept for me as a stay at home mom.)
  • Helps us prepare for today's weather.
  • Reminds me if I need to pull any meats out of the freezer to be defrosted.
  • It helps me to remember to look at my calendar so I don't forget any important appointments.
Not only is it helpful to me, but also to my husband.  One day I imagine it will also be helpful to my kids.

Do you have some board or some similar concept that you use in your house?  What do you do?
