I'm so excited to be offering a giveaway with Kroger. Even better I am giving away a 6 month supply of ice cream! (or rather a gift card so you can buy Kroger's Deluxe Ice Cream)
The summer season is over. Fall and cooler weather has arrived. But that doesn't mean the season for eating ice cream is over. Just last week I was given a gift card for a 6 month supply of ice cream. I drove to my Kroger and went looking for some ice cream. I was surprised by the large variety of flavors available. First, I grabbed some cookies and cream which is my husband's favorite. Next, I found the classic chocolate flavor for my daughter who loves chocolate. While looking at the flavors I was excited to see they also had sherbet one of my favorites so I grabbed a rainbow flavored sherbet for myself. (If I had more freezer space I would have grabbed a peppermint ice cream for myself too, but I will wait until November or December for my favorite Christmas ice cream flavor!)
How is the quality? It is great. Of course this is coming from someone that loves Kroger branded foods in general. (In my opinion, you can never go wrong with the Kroger brand.) My daughter has decided to eat my husbands cookies and cream ice cream. You should see her devour her dinner so she can have ice cream for dessert. My mother in law had the chocolate ice cream and said that she liked it. As for the rainbow sherbet it is heavenly. I love sherbet because it is sweet and light with just a little bite to it. Perfect.

Although we have ice cream year round, we eat it mostly in the summer. Always a nice, cool and creamy way to end a hot day.
Ice cream can definitely be eaten all year around... especially according to my hubby! My kids like it when I put a scoop in their hot chocolate in the winter. :)
We definitely have ice cream in our house year round, but then again I live where it doesn't get very cold. As for classifying it as a dessert....could be a meal, could be a snack:)

I also visited the Kroger web site. You know, I think I saw an eCoupon at shortcuts.com for 75 cents off Kroger ice cream. It was already on sale at King Soopers (Colorado) so the coupon makes it pretty darn cheap ice cream.
I heard that Alaska consumes more ice cream per capita than any other state. I think it just goes to show that ice cream can be eaten in any season. During the fall, I really enjoy ice cream with caramel sauce over a nice warm brownie.
There's no question that ice cream is for year-round enjoyment. Take the warm-weather dessert of pie, for example....best paired with ice cream. ;)

I love ice cream all year round! I used to work near an ice cream shop and made my co-workers walk with me in the winter for a cone. They thought I was crazy but my stomach was happy!

We eat ice cream all year round. Possibly more in the fall and winter because we eat in the classic birthday cake and ice cream combo and most of our birthdays are in the Fall. We had Kroger Ice Cream this last month and it was fantastic!

Are you kidding? I grew up having ice cream for a bedtime snack nearly every night. The family dog got to lick the bowls clean! There's always ice cream in my freezer, sometimes 4-5 flavors. I love Kroger's, especially their Private Selection brand.
